Johnson Controls appoints Phil Clement as Chief Marketing Officer

Johnson Controls announced earlier this year the appointment of Phil Clement as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer. Clement is now responsible of all global activities related to conceptualising and implementing market strategy and demand generation, including achieving marketing targets through in-depth market development, research and planning.

Clement most recently served as global chief marketing and communications officer for Aon. As Aon’s first ever global CMO, Clement was responsible for developing the company’s global CRM systems, common sales processes and a single global brand. Prior to joining Aon, Clement was the founder of a management consulting firm specialising in growth strategies.

Clement will report to Mike Ellis, executive vice president, and chief digital & customer officer. “Phil brings a wealth of strategy, brand and marketing experience to Johnson Controls and he will play a critical role in making sure our teams can successfully support our growth goals and our customers,” said Ellis.

Clement attended the University of Southern California, and has a Master’s of Business Administration and Public Policy from the University of Chicago.

REV Group appoints two Senior positions

REV Fire Group, manufacturer of fire apparatus brands, has announced two senior-level appointments. In a dual role, Joseph Belle joins REV Fire Group as Vice-President of Operations overseeing operational excellence across all REV Fire facilities and undertaking day-to-day leadership of the E-ONE business as Vice President and General Manager.

Daniel Blatt, Vice President and General Manager of REV Group’s recently divested commercial shuttle business in Imlay City, MI, was appointed VP/GM of the Spartan Fire operations in Charlotte, MI reporting to Amanda Van Duyn, Vice President and General Manager of the Spartan fire brands. Mr. Belle and Ms. Van Duyn report to Kent Tyler, REV Fire Group President.

A veteran of fire apparatus manufacturing and seasoned operations leader, Joseph Belle has worked with REV Group brands throughout his career including Vice President and General Manager for Goshen Coach, Vice President of Operations for Capacity Trucks and as Director of Operations and Scheduling for E-ONE. Prior to his return to REV Fire Group, Joey was Senior Director of Operation and Continuous Improvement at TICO.

A graduate of the College of Central Florida, Joseph continued his operations specialization earning numerous training certificates in Lean Manufacturing and 5S. He is also a trained firefighter and EMT rescuer.

Following REV Group’s divesture of the shuttle bus business in May, Daniel was transitioned last month to oversee the Spartan Emergency Response team in Charlotte, MI. He also brings over 30 years’ experience in operations and P&L management in manufacturing and industrial environments.

Hochiki Europe appoints new lighting expert

Hochiki Europe, the life safety manufacturer, has appointed lighting expert Ian Hill as emergency lighting business manager.

Hill brings a wealth of industry experience to the role, with a technical background covering business development, sales of life safety equipment and product development. Hill will combine his industry sales experience with his technical expertise to bolster Hochiki Europe’s growth in the global emergency lighting sector. As part of his new role, he will support the widening of the company’s emergency lighting offering and other exciting developments on the horizon.

Starting his career within the design department at Simplex Lighting, Hill has spent decades developing his skillset across a variety of roles with lighting manufacturers including Philips and Fagerhult. He then made the transfer over to emergency lighting during his tenure at Eaton Electrical Systems, previously known as Cooper Lighting and Safety.

Hill commented: “I’ve admired Hochiki Europe’s work and reputation for some time, so when the opportunity arose, I couldn’t turn it down. The company has contributed vastly to the advances made within life safety over the past few years, especially with products such as its FIREscape collection. Working in a company with such an international foothold is also incredibly exciting.
