Ranger expands into the South East

Ranger Fire and Security has made its first acquisition in the South East with the purchase of London-based Fidelity Integrated Systems, announced on Wednesday 15 April 2026.

Ranger said Fidelity, which is based in Orpington, will act as the group’s business hub in the region.

Fidelity provides fire and safety-security services including access control, CCTV, intruder alarms and gate automation.

Its fire safety work includes detection, suppression and compliance solutions intended to minimise risk and damage to properties.

The company has served customers across London and the home counties for more than 20 years.

Its client base includes listed buildings, schools, retail stores and residential developments.

Fidelity holds NACOSS Gold accreditation for Security Systems and for Fire Alarm Systems and is fully regulated by the NSI.

The acquisition is Ranger’s 18th since its formation in early 2024 and its fifth of 2026.

Leadership and regional plans

Ranger said Fidelity Managing Director Andy Atkinson will remain in his role alongside the existing senior management teams.

“While several Ranger businesses operate nationally, the capital and South East the area has been a gap in our geography.

Ranger said the deal forms part of its strategy to bring together local businesses into a national fire and security platform across the UK and Ireland.

Fidelity will now serve as Ranger’s regional hub in the South East while continuing to operate with its existing leadership team.

The Fire Safety Event provides NSI with a platform to engage directly with businesses and individuals interested in the benefits of third-party certification, such as improved performance, customer satisfaction, and enhanced prospects for securing contracts.

NSI’s comprehensive certification capabilities

As a UKAS-accredited body, NSI is licensed by BAFE to assess and certify against BAFE’s fire safety competency schemes.

These schemes cover a wide range of services including fire risk assessment, fire extinguisher maintenance, and more.

Organizations seeking to be listed on BAFE’s register are subject to rigorous annual audits to maintain their certified status, underscoring a robust commitment to fire safety excellence.

A focal point for industry professionals

The Fire Safety Event, featuring over 175 exhibitors and more than 45 hours of CPD content, is a key gathering for fire safety professionals.

It offers a unique opportunity for attendees to access leading industry brands and gain insights into regulatory updates and best practices.

NSI to make Fire Safety Event debut

The National Security Inspectorate (NSI) will be making its exhibitor debut at this year’s Fire Safety Event, which takes place next month on 25-27 April at the NEC in Birmingham.

The Inspectorate will this year have a dedicated hub within the Fire Safety Event where visitors are invited to meet face to face with NSI’s team to learn how third party certification can enhance their business by improving performance and increasing customer satisfaction.

NSI is licensed by BAFE to conduct fire safety assessments on their behalf, awarding third party certification to compliant providers on a range of competency schemes namely:

  • Fire Risk Assessment (BAFE SP205)
  • Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems (BAFE SP203-1)
  • Fire Extinguisher Maintenance/Servicing (BAFE SP101)
  • Emergency Lighting Systems (BAFE SP203-4)
  • Fixed Gaseous Fire Extinguishing Systems (BAFE SP203-3)
  • Kitchen Fire Protection Systems (BAFE SP206)
  • Evacuation Alert Systems (BAFE SP207)

Organisations selecting NSI as their Certification Body for one or more of the BAFE competency schemes will, once granted certification, in addition to BAFE registration be awarded usage of the coveted NSI Gold or Silver certification logos.

NSI Seminars

Visitors to the Fire Safety Event will also have the opportunity to attend a specially curated programme of educational seminars in which NSI’s Senior Operations Manager (Systems), Chris Hayes, will be participating. Hayes, who leads NSI’s team of Systems auditors, will be speaking on 25 April at 2.30pm in the Innovation and Regulation Theatre explaining ‘Fire Risk Assessment & Evacuation Alert Systems – A Certification Body’s Perspective on Demonstrating Competence’. Those attending the session will find out how becoming third party certificated helps providers demonstrate due diligence and evidence competency to their clients, which is increasingly recommended by the Government.
