MSA Safety completes acquisition of M&C TechGroup for $200 million

MSA Safety has announced the acquisition of M&C TechGroup, a Germany-based company specialising in gas analysis systems, in a transaction valued at approximately $200 million.

According to MSA Safety, the acquisition supports its business strategy by expanding its detection portfolio and entering new industrial markets.

M&C TechGroup is headquartered in Ratingen and employs around 220 people worldwide.

MSA Safety stated that M&C TechGroup develops systems for gas sampling, gas conditioning and process control, used across sectors such as energy, chemicals, utilities, manufacturing and food production.

Founded in 1985, M&C’s technology is used in critical environments where gas detection and monitoring is required.

The company’s operations and expertise are expected to complement MSA Safety’s existing detection solutions, according to the acquiring firm.
