Intersec Awards 2026 winners announced in Dubai

The winners of the Intersec Awards 2026 were announced during a gala dinner at the Conrad Dubai in Dubai, UAE.

The awards are now in their fifth edition, covering 17 categories across fire and safety, security and industry leadership, selected by an independent panel of 23 international judges.

Khalid Mubarak of Dubai Municipality received the H.H Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Emirati Rising Star Award.

Albadr Jannah of Saudi Aramco received the Industry Leader of the Year award.

Jazyah Aldossary of Saudi Aramco received the Women Trailblazers in Security, Fire Safety and HSE award.

Moataz Allami of Humain received the CISO of the Year award.

WSP received the Best HSE Team award.

WE ONE Security received the Best Security Team award.

WSP received the Strategy in Consultancy award.

Kentec Electronics received the Best Active Fire Safety Product award for K Detect Ion Detector.

UAE celebrates success at Intersec 2025 Awards

The Intersec 2025 Awards were held on Wednesday, 15 January, at the Ritz Carlton DIFC in Dubai.

The ceremony celebrated outstanding achievements in safety, security, and fire protection, recognising excellence across 16 categories.

The UAE achieved won eight awards, including the Fire Safety Excellence Project – Middle East & Africa, Fire Safety Innovation Award, and Women Trailblazers in Security/Fire Safety Award.

Among the winners were Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Municipality, Ministry of Interior, and NAFFCO.

New categories introduced at Intersec 2025 Awards

This year’s awards featured three new categories designed to reflect evolving industry trends.

The CISO of the Year Award was presented to Harrison Nnaji, Group Chief Information Security Officer at First Bank of Nigeria, for his work in enhancing cybersecurity.

Emirates Safety Laboratory LLC won the Excellence in Testing, Evaluation, and Certification Award for its contributions to fire safety in the MENA region.

PwC Middle East secured the Consulting Leadership in Fire Safety, Security, and Cybersecurity Award.

Awards highlight innovation and collaboration

The Outstanding Fire Safety Team Award went to Drydocks World and Luxury Owners Association Management Company LLC.

Lt. Col. Dr. Humaid AL Ali from the Ministry of Interior was recognised with the Rising Star Award for Emirati Talent.

The Fire Safety Innovation Award was awarded to NAFFCO for its Falcon 6 firefighting and rescue vehicle.

The Intersec Awards 2025 are returning for the fourth year, recognising achievements in fire safety, security, and related industries.

According to Intersec, this year’s competition attracted a total of 1,412 entries across 15 categories, spread over three main divisions: Fire and Safety, Security, and Industry.

Following the August 30 deadline, a shortlist of entries will be announced on October 7, 2024.

Judging will be carried out in two rounds.

Part of Intersec 2024, the world-leading emergency services, security, and safety event that will take place from 16 – 18 January 2024 in Dubai, the Intersec Awards will culminate in a glittering gala on the evening of 17 January 2024 at the Palazzo Versace Hotel, Dubai.

Judging

The evaluation for the Awards process is thorough and rigorous.

In the initial round, all entries undergo a screening process, from which the top-scoring ones are shortlisted.

The second round involves a deep-dive evaluation of these shortlisted entries and may require interviews with the entrants or assessments of product samples to ensure a complete understanding.

Winners of the 2023 Intersec Awards announced

The winners of the Intersec Awards 2023 were announced last night (19 January) in a gala dinner event at the Ritz Carlton, DIFC. Among the winners were Dubai Police, UAE based Atos and Protec Fire Detection from the UK, as well as individuals from Aman Security Training and NAFFCO.

The Awards, which recognise the people, products and companies for exceptional performance in the fire, safety and security industries across ten categories attracted almost 1300 entries.

The People categories reward those who challenge industry standards, are exceptionally skilled at inspiring transformation and bringing about substantial change, and who have achieved great success as industry experts in their particular field.

The award for Outstanding Commitment to the Industry went to Adil Abdel-Hadi of Aman Security Training, for proactively raised the professionalism of the security industry throughout the Middle East and Africa. One way in which he achieved this was by introducing City & Guilds accredited training courses for both the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) and the Dubai Police Academy, which have benefited over 200,000 vocational students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Abdel-Hadi described his win as “Overwhelming”, adding “I am very honoured to receive it. It’s been wonderful.” He also acknowledged his fellow nominees and the organisers, referencing their ‘commitment and support to the industry for the past 20 years.’

Other winners in the people category included Les Allan, Chairman of the Association of University Chief Security Officers who was named International Leader of the Year; while Khalid Al Khatib, CEO of NAFFCO was selected as Regional Leader of the Year and Essa Ahmed Al-Mutawa of Dubai Civil Defence has been hailed as a rising star, receiving the Young Emirati Achiever Award.

Commenting on his win, Al-Mutawa said: “I feel extremely honoured to receive the award, it will help me try to think positively and to give more to my work and company,” and paid tribute to Intersec 2023, adding, “And I would like to thank everyone who works for this great event.”

Security winners

Homeland Security product of the year went to D-Fend Solutions for its EnforceAir counter-drone technology, while OPTEX REDSCAN pro Lidar series from OPTEX Europe won Commercial and Perimeter Security product of the year. Secure Logiq was recognised for its efforts offsetting the carbon of the electronic security manufacturing sector with the trophy for Security Sustainability service of the year and the award for Cybersecurity service of the year went to Atos for the AI platform powered managed detection and response services – Alsaac.

Fire and safety winners

Fire and Safety Sustainability Product of the year recognised the Eco Land and Eco Sea products from Detectionloop; and Fire Product of the Year was presented to Protec Cirrus HYBRID Aspirating Fire and Smoke Detector from Protec Fire Detection. Data-analytics platform chnnl, designed to help organisations create meaningful well-being and psychological safety strategies won Safety Product of the year, while a special award for Excellence in Community Service and Wellbeing was presented to Dubai Police for its Lost and Found service that takes advantage of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
