Nineteen Events, organisers of the Emergency Services Show and Emergency Tech Show, have announced the launch of the Resilience360 conference.

Taking place at the NEC Birmingham this September alongside the Emergency Services Show, the event has been created as a new leadership forum focused on operational resilience, critical infrastructure protection and continuity of operations.

The new conference has been developed to bring together government representatives, critical infrastructure operators, emergency services leaders and industry professionals responsible for maintaining essential services during disruption, crisis and major incidents.

Strategically positioned at the intersection of operational resilience, emergency preparedness and critical infrastructure, Resilience360 will examine how organisations can prepare for, respond to and recover from disruption in an increasingly complex risk environment.

The conference comes at a time of heightened geopolitical uncertainty, rising cyber threats, climate-related disruption and supply chain instability. Organisers say the programme will provide a platform for cross-sector collaboration and leadership on resilience strategy and operational continuity.

Siemens launches intelligent fire detection and notification systems for smart buildings

Intelligent fire detection portfolio combines connected fire detectors and digital notification technology to support autonomous buildings

Siemens has expanded its portfolio with the launch of a new intelligent fire detection and notification portfolio that combines cloud-connected fire detectors with digital alarm notification systems to improve building safety, reduce maintenance and support autonomous building operations.

The company has introduced its next-generation Sinteso Nova and Cerberus Nova fire detectors alongside the Acend Intelligent notification portfolio, creating an integrated fire safety ecosystem that delivers continuous self-testing, predictive maintenance, remote diagnostics and real-time monitoring. The combined offering is designed for sectors including healthcare, hospitality, commercial real estate, higher education and data centres, where maintaining uninterrupted operations is critical.

Together, the new products transform conventional fire safety into a proactive, connected system that gives building operators greater visibility of system performance while reducing manual maintenance through cloud-based monitoring and diagnostics.

Intelligent fire detection monitoring

The Sinteso Nova and Cerberus Nova fire detectors continuously monitor their own performance using Disturbance-Free Testing (DFT), allowing automated self-checks to take place around the clock without disrupting occupants or building operations. Smoke Entry Supervision (SES) technology monitors smoke entry points in real time, while ASAplus technology combines multi-wavelength optical and dual thermal detection to reduce false alarms and unnecessary evacuations.

The detectors are fully IoT-enabled and integrate with Siemens’ Building X Fire Apps, allowing facility managers and service providers to access real-time monitoring, remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance and shared operational data from connected buildings.

Complementing the new detection portfolio, the Acend Intelligent notification range digitises fire alarm notification through connected horns, strobes, speakers and combination notification appliances that can each be monitored and activated individually.

Its integrated Disturbance-Free Testing technology enables technicians to verify system readiness without triggering audible or visual alarms, helping minimise disruption in environments such as hospitals, hotels, office buildings and data centres. Individual device monitoring also allows faults to be identified more quickly, reducing the need for physical inspections.

The notification portfolio also incorporates Class X isolation technology, ensuring systems remain operational by isolating wiring faults while maintaining protection across unaffected parts of the building.

The new fire detection portfolio has been designed to simplify modernisation projects by supporting stepwise upgrades while remaining compatible with existing Siemens fire panels, eliminating the need for complete system replacement. Plug-and-play integration and automatic transfer of configured settings help reduce installation time and project risk for both new-build and retrofit applications.

Both the fire detection and notification portfolios have been developed with sustainability in mind. They incorporate recycled materials and carry Siemens’ EcoTech environmental product performance label to provide greater transparency around environmental performance. The Sinteso Nova and Cerberus Nova detectors are also part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, the company’s open digital business platform, and have been developed and manufactured in Switzerland.

The Acend Intelligent notification portfolio is available in markets using UL certification standards, including the United States, Canada and selected countries in Latin America, the Middle East and Asia. Siemens showcased the new notification technology at the 2026 NFPA Conference & Expo in Las Vegas.

First European Fire Detection Forum launched by Euralarm during VdS-FireSafety Cologne 2026

Euralarm has launched the first European Fire Detection Forum, a conference dedicated to the future of fire detection and electronic fire safety in Europe. The event will take place on 2 December 2026 in Cologne, Germany, as part of the VdS-FireSafety Cologne.

Euralarm says the integration of the European Fire Detection Forum into the VdS-FireSafety Cologne will bring value by creating a European platform to examine both current developments and the future direction of electronic fire detection.

The inaugural edition will be held under the theme: “Fire safety in a changing world and the changing world of fire safety – From reaction to prediction: the next paradigm of electronic fire safety.” Looking at the pipeline of developments and technologies to support earlier detection and reduction of nuisance alarms.

New dates confirmed for INTERSCHUTZ 2030

INTERSCHUTZ 2030 will be held from 20 to 25 May 2030 at the exhibition grounds in Hanover, organiser Deutsche Messe AG has announced.

Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe AG, said the early announcement provides certainty for exhibitors, partners and visitors around the world.

“By setting the new date at an early stage, we create planning certainty for exhibitors, partners and visitors worldwide,” Köckler said, “INTERSCHUTZ continues to strengthen its position as a central platform for innovation, exchange and international collaboration in the fields of fire services, rescue services and civil protection.”

He added that the event’s mix of exhibitions, conference programs and live demonstrations would again bring together international decision-makers, emergency responders and experts in Hanover after the 2026 edition.

Industry associations also welcomed the scheduling announcement.

Karl-Heinz Banse, President of the German Firefighters Association, described the decision as “a strong signal of reliability and forward-looking planning.”

“For fire services in Germany and beyond, it provides early planning certainty and gives us the opportunity to further develop innovation, training and cooperation in a targeted way,” Banse said.

Dirk Aschenbrenner, President of vfdb, said the new date supports long-term research and development efforts, particularly in civil protection.

“The new INTERSCHUTZ 2030 date opens up valuable prospects for research, development and transfer into practice,” Aschenbrenner said. “Particularly in civil protection, it is crucial to think long-term and to systematically advance innovation.”

Martin Zaindl, Chairman of VDMA Firefighting Technology, said the schedule provides a clear framework for the sector.

“This is an important foundation for driving technological developments forward in a focused way and making them visible internationally,” Zaindl said.

Köckler said preparations remain focused on the upcoming 2026 event while also looking ahead to the next edition in 2030.

“Looking ahead to 2030 underlines the long-term perspective – yet the future is already being written at INTERSCHUTZ 2026,” he said.

While many end users still manually wind fire hoses, the company said winding various types of fire hoses doesn’t always have to be hard and physically demanding work. The ET-Roller 7 electric fire hose winder enables userrs to wind fire hoses up to 6 inches in diameter.

The winder features a motor powered by Milwaukee batteries, a telescopic handle, a stable four-wheel chassis and a Quick-Release mechanism for fast exchange of adapters for winding different types of fire hoses.

It also features two types of removable carriers (DRUM or 2 FORKS) according to the size of the hose to be wound up and is suitable for various winding methods such as smooth winding of the hose by the coupling as well as hoses folded in half.
