Rosenbauer delivers 100th tank fire vehicle with modular MT body

Modular Rosenbauer MT technology reaches delivery milestone

Rosenbauer has delivered its 100th tank firefighting vehicle featuring the Modular Technology (MT) body concept to the plant fire department of Covestro Deutschland at the Brunsbüttel plant.

Matthias Reisinger, Global Product Manager for Industrial and Specialized Firefighting Vehicles at Rosenbauer International AG, explained that the MT system allows customers to configure custom vehicles using a modular system.

The anniversary model is a Universal Firefighting Vehicle (ULF) built on a Scania P500 6×2*4 NB chassis for service in the 420-hectare industrial park.

Reisinger noted: “The MT is available in four different configurations.

“As the MT Forest for fighting wildfires, the MT Airport for airport fire departments, the MT Municipal for large-capacity tanker trucks used by municipal fire departments, and the MT Industrial for operations by plant fire departments in industrial facilities.”

Approximately 30 percent of all orders for the MT series originate from the industrial sector.

The company manufactures all modules in-house with tanks supplied from Radgona and final assembly occurring on a dedicated production line in Leonding.

Reisinger said: “The MT’s most distinctive feature is its modular design.

“There are equipment compartment modules, tank modules with various types of fire extinguishing agent tanks, the pump compartment module with the centrifugal fire pump and, if required, a foam proportioning system, crew compartment modules, and even a module for the STINGER fire-fighting boom, complete with a support system.”

The crew compartment module is integrated as the first module in the superstructure rather than being welded to the cab.

Technical specifications for the Covestro universal firefighting vehicle

The new ULF at the Brunsbüttel Industrial Park carries 3,000 litres of foam concentrate and 1,900 litres of water for initial attack operations.

Leif Strufe, project manager at Covestro, stated that the 14-month lead time for the vehicle was a decisive factor in the selection process.

Two competitors offered delivery times of 27 and 29 months for the same project.

The vehicle features an N65 single-stage normal-pressure pump with a nominal capacity of 6,500 litres per minute at 10 bar.

Foam proportioning is managed by a HYDROMATIC 800 system capable of delivering 800 litres per minute at 17 bar.

Technical operations manager Broder Brandt noted the inclusion of an RM 80C roof monitor and an RM 15C front monitor to create water curtains during gas leaks.

Brandt said: “It’s our first fire truck with a front monitor.

“With the vehicle’s two monitors combined, we can create an effective water curtain in the event of a gas leak.”

Safety features on the Scania chassis include a crash-tested crew cab, airbags in every seat, and a Bird’s-Eye View camera system.

A permanently mounted thermal imaging camera on the cab roof allows the crew to detect hydrogen fires which burn almost invisibly.

Another 50 customers have already placed orders for vehicles using the modular system.

Rosenbauer reports record revenue EBIT and order backlog in 2025

Rosenbauer posts record 2025 results

Rosenbauer International AG reported record revenue, EBIT and order backlog for 2025, with sales rising to €1,429.0 million and order backlog reaching €2,354.6 million.

In a company statement published on 10 April 2026, Rosenbauer said EBIT rose to €84.5 million from €64.9 million in 2024, while earnings before taxes more than doubled to €54.7 million from €26.3 million.

Net profit for the period rose to €54.3 million from €29.8 million.

Cash flow from operating activities increased to €87.1 million from €82.2 million.

The equity ratio rose to 27.8% from 16.6%.

Net debt fell to €244.5 million from €392.5 million.

The net debt to EBITDA ratio fell to less than 2.

The company said vehicle deliveries to customers worldwide increased by around 4%.

Its Vehicles segment generated €1,115.8 million in revenue and accounted for around 78% of total revenue.

Trade working capital remained stable despite the increase in revenue.

Rosenbauer created 110 new jobs in Austria during 2025, bringing its global workforce to 4,922 employees as of 31 December.

Financing and regional performance

Rosenbauer said the rise in earnings was linked to efficiency improvement measures, while financing costs fell after the capital increase and subsequent refinancing.

The financial result was €–29.9 million in 2025 compared with €–38.6 million in 2024.

Equity rose to €371.0 million at the end of 2025 from €208.1 million a year earlier.

Rosenbauer said it generates about one third of its revenue in the United States, where it produces for the local market at four of its own locations.

The company said it was affected only indirectly by trade policy restrictions in that region.

It added that temporary market uncertainties had a dampening effect on demand in the Americas region.

Order intake in the Americas region was €466.9 million, down from €529.6 million in the previous year.

Rosenbauer sets out 2026 outlook

Rosenbauer said it started 2026 with an order backlog equal to around 165% of annual revenue and stated that 92.6% of revenue is generated outside Austria, with 53.5% generated outside Europe.

The company identified the US, India and South America as markets with long-term growth potential.

It said it is continuing to expand its customer service business and global service network.

Expansion at the Luckenwalde and Bad Abbach locations is intended to strengthen customer proximity and support the full vehicle life cycle.

Rosenbauer also said INTERSCHUTZ in Hanover will be a platform for presenting new solutions in e-mobility, forest fire deployment, equipment, vehicle concepts and fire extinguishing technology.

Based on current planning, the Executive Board expects sales of approximately €1.6 billion in 2026 and said the EBIT margin is expected to improve to more than 6%.

Rosenbauer expands global training capacity

Rosenbauer said on 18 March 2026 that it is expanding training capacity across its global network in response to increased demand for vehicle, equipment and service training.

The company said it operates training centres in Leonding, Karlsruhe, Dubai, Singapore and Wyoming.

More than 60 courses are offered in Leonding for service technicians, alongside expert sessions, customer training and internal staff development.

Training is focused on maintenance and servicing of Rosenbauer vehicles and products, as well as electronics, bodywork and assembly for employees and apprentices.

Rosenbauer also said it delivers on-site training at fire departments and provides e-learning programmes for operators.

It added that infrastructure at the Leonding site has been expanded with two indoor vehicle training bays, an additional workshop and new training rooms.

Rosenbauer appoints Jörg Schuschnig as CFO

Rosenbauer International AG said on 1 April 2026 that Jörg Schuschnig has taken up the role of Chief Financial Officer for a three-year term.

He succeeds Chief Executive Officer Robert Ottel, who had been handling the CFO remit on an interim basis.

Rosenbauer delivers first fire truck simulator for China airport training

China receives first fire truck simulator

Rosenbauer has put the first fire truck simulator into service in China through a mobile system installed in a trailer and delivered to a Beijing company with a training centre in Wuhan.

The simulator was delivered to Super Umbrella, which specialises exclusively in airport fire departments.

The trailer-based system can be installed for use anywhere and is intended to support training for airport fire truck operators.

Alexander Schneckenreither, Managing Director of Rosenbauer China, said: “With the mobile simulator, you have the ability to conduct training and instruction anywhere and without extensive preparatory work.”

Training can be carried out without being tied to a specific time or location.

Rosenbauer that this is especially relevant for airport fire departments, where drills can be difficult or impossible to carry out during flight operations.

It also said that there are almost no live-fire simulators at airports in China.

China simulator covers driving and tactical training

The company said the simulator uses a generic cockpit with five displays and controls similar to those of the PANTHER, allowing it to be used for multiple vehicle types.

The training scenarios cover driving as well as firefighting operations.

Schneckenreither said: “It is a driving and tactical simulator that allows you to intensively train both the approach to the scene and the correct application of firefighting techniques in a wide variety of training scenarios—from basic training to complex scenarios including operational tactics, fire suppression, and communication with incident command,”

Rosenbauer states that the simulator recreates airport grounds and cockpit procedures such as buckling up, starting the engine and releasing the parking brake.

It also includes the operation of firefighting equipment including front and roof monitors.

Some scenarios at a virtual airport with two runways were pre-programmed at the customer’s request.

Trainers have their own room in the trailer for control and observation.

They can also create their own scenarios or change existing ones in real time, including the placement of additional vehicles or aircraft and changes to weather conditions.

Rosenbauer noted that many fire truck drivers in China come from truck or bus driving backgrounds rather than firefighting.

Schneckenreither said: “This is precisely where using a simulator makes a lot of sense.

“Drivers can familiarize themselves with the vehicle without risk and already have a certain level of routine in operating it before they take the wheel of a real vehicle with a crew,”

Rosenbauer states that there are around 50 PANTHER-type airport fire trucks in service in China, alongside other fire trucks that can also be used in simulator training.

Schneckenreither added: “The Civil Aviation Administration of China has already expressed interest.

“The simulator offers real added value in the training and continuing education of drivers and can thus become an important tool for training and education.”

Rosenbauer to supply 26 Dutch airport fire vehicles

The Dutch Ministry of Defence has awarded a contract for 26 Rosenbauer PANTHER 6×6 vehicles to renew the airport firefighting vehicle fleet in the Netherlands.

Rosenbauer announced that the order will be handled by Kenbri Fire Fighting, its exclusive partner in the Netherlands, and the vehicles will replace the crash tenders currently in use at airports.

Rosenbauer vehicles include HRET and roof turret configurations

Rosenbauer said seven vehicles will be delivered with high reach extendable turrets (HRET) and 19 vehicles will be equipped with roof turrets.

The HRET units include an extendable telescopic arm that reaches around 16 metres and allows firefighting from a distance.

Water, foam or extinguishing powder can be dispensed with precision through the extinguishing arm.

The roof turret vehicles use electrically remote controlled turrets with flow rates of up to 9,000 litres per minute and throw ranges exceeding 90 metres.

The vehicles accelerate from 0 to 80 km/h in less than 33 seconds to support rapid response to major fires.

PANTHER 6×6 designed for airport firefighting operations

Rosenbauer said the PANTHER 6×6 is designed for airport use and includes high engine performance and off road capability.

The vehicles also include high extinguishing agent capacity with pumping and monitoring systems designed for rapid firefighting operations.

The crash tested cabin is ergonomically designed with all round visibility and assistance systems intended to support crew safety and comfort.

The vehicles comply with international International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and are tailored to the operational requirements of Dutch airport fire services.

Rosenbauer is set to deliver its 3,000th PANTHER 6×6 to Athens International Airport as part of a seven-vehicle order.

Rosenbauer announced it had won an international tender to supply Greece’s largest airport with seven fourth-generation PANTHER 6×6 vehicles.

The seven new vehicles will replace seven PANTHER units from the existing airport fleet from the 1998 model year.

Vehicle configuration and onboard systems

The order includes three PANTHER 6×6 vehicles with a high reach extendable turret (HRET) and four vehicles with a classic roof turret.

The HRET units have an extendable telescopic arm that reaches a height of around 16 metres.

The arm is fitted with a piercing tool intended for penetration into aircraft fuselages.

The turret can dispense water, foam or extinguishing powder.

The roof-turret vehicles have electrically remote-controlled turrets with flow rates of up to 9,000 litres per minute.

The roof turrets have throw ranges of well over 80 metres.

The company said the award decision also considered pump and admixture systems, turret control, driver assistance and safety systems, crew cabin ergonomics, off-road mobility and robustness.

The specification also includes integrated thermal imaging and illumination solutions.

Athens airport operating context and production milestone

Athens International Airport opened in March 2001 and has two runways.

The airport currently handles an average of around 770 flights per day, with higher levels in the summer months.

Rosenbauer stated the delivery of the 3,000th PANTHER also marks a production milestone for its airport firefighting vehicle line.

The company traced the line from large tank firefighting vehicles in the 1950s, through the SIMBA series in the 1980s, to the debut of the first PANTHER in 1991.

Rosenbauer has delivered 800 HEROS Titan protective helmets to Secours Sud Fribourgeois in the canton of Fribourg, the company said on Tuesday 09/12/2025.

Rosenbauer said the order followed a joint tender issued by 52 municipalities in Western Switzerland.

The company described the procurement as one of the largest collective tenders of its kind in Western Switzerland.

It added that the delivery is the largest single delivery it has made in Switzerland.

Helmets specified for extreme conditions

Rosenbauer said the HEROS Titan is designed for firefighting operations under extreme conditions.

The company said the helmet meets EN 443, EN 16741, EN 16473, ISO 16073 and EN 14458.

It added that the helmet provides protection against heat, impact, chemicals and mechanical influences.

Rosenbauer said the shell is made of a highly impact-resistant high-tech material.

The company said the shell remains dimensionally stable from –40 °C to over 300 °C.

Rosenbauer said the standard version weighs around 1,350 grams.

It added that weight distribution is designed to support wearing comfort during long operations.

Rosenbauer said the helmet system includes reflective stickers and preparation for a radio system.

Rosenbauer expands Luckenwalde Customer Center

Rosenbauer is consistently pushing to expand its service network; with its new large-scale site in Luckenwalde, the company now has the largest Customer Center in the Group.

In operation since April 2025, the workshop area of around 6,500 m² – almost the size of a soccer field – provides space for all types of equipment and vehicles, from turntable ladders and municipal firefighting vehicles to PANTHER models, water cannons, zero-emission RT and PANTHER electric.

In Germany alone, Rosenbauer anticipates that around 9,300 vehicles will be in use by 2030 – an increase of more than 30 percent compared to 2025.

According to the company, growing demand and corresponding increases in revenues in the service segment are also to be expected.

Oshkosh, REV Group and Rosenbauer America are facing multiple class action lawsuits in the United States alleging a coordinated effort to inflate the price of fire trucks sold to municipalities.

Reuters reported that the latest case was filed on Friday 31 October by Newstead Fire Company in the Eastern District of Wisconsin, where two similar lawsuits are already pending.

Claims point to price rises and production limits

The lawsuits state that fire truck prices have doubled since 2015, with pumper trucks now averaging $1 million and ladder trucks exceeding $2 million.

Rosenbauer launches FOX S portable fire pump

Rosenbauer has presented its new FOX S portable fire pump at the FLORIAN trade fair in Dresden.

The company said the FOX S delivers 1,050 litres per minute at 10 bar, allowing a B-hose line to be supplied with 1,000 litres per minute over long distances.

Weighing 154 kilograms, the pump is compact and easier to handle and transport than the larger FOX model.

Rosenbauer confirmed that the FOX S completes its portable pump portfolio, joining the FOX, BEAVER and OTTER models.

Roland Weber, Product Manager at Rosenbauer, said: “The FOX S is the ideal choice when every kilo of weight counts, but all the functions of a FOX are important.

Lightweight design with robust efficiency

According to Rosenbauer, the FOX S features a single-stage centrifugal pump developed specifically for this application.

Its impeller, designed with spatially curved blades and a light metal spiral housing, delivers high efficiency.

A stainless-steel pump shaft, lubricant-free mechanical seal and clamping ring design make the unit easy to maintain.

The company said the FOX S is operated at the push of a button and uses the Rosenbauer Logic Control System (RBC LCS) interface for user feedback and fault reporting.

Cavitation warning and inlet pressure monitoring protect the pump from damage during use.

Expanding Rosenbauer’s portable pump family

Rosenbauer stated that the FOX S and the larger FOX share a unified operating concept, meeting performance standards across the PFPN 10-1000, 10-1500 and 10-2000 classes.

The FOX remains Rosenbauer’s most powerful portable pump, with a flow rate of 2,050 litres per minute at 10 bar and a suction lift of three metres.

The BEAVER model was also updated in 2025 with a new engine, redesigned controls and improved ergonomic handles.

The company said the BEAVER, weighing 133 kilograms, exceeds its PFPN 10-750 class requirements with an output of over 900 litres per minute.

At 58 kilograms, the OTTER serves as the lightweight entry-level model, providing easy handling and reliable water delivery in the field.

Availability and delivery timeline

Rosenbauer confirmed that the FOX S will be available to order from January 2026.

Deliveries are expected to begin at the end of the first quarter of 2026, depending on order intake.
