According to Rosenbauer, the demonstration event, titled the PANTHER electric Experience, welcomed around 300 attendees including customers, airport representatives and sales partners from across the globe.

The event included test drives of the PANTHER electric and other electric models, product exhibitions, and technical demonstrations focused on the use of e-mobility in emergency response.

Rosenbauer stated that test drives of the PANTHER electric were the main feature of the event, allowing participants to assess its handling and performance under guided conditions.

It added that another electric firefighting vehicle, the Revolutionary Technology (RT), was also available for test demonstrations to highlight its turning capabilities.

Additional systems and tools were exhibited in the pit area, including the RFC Simulator Tactic PANTHER, the RTE Robot AX, and battery fire suppression systems such as the RFC CUTTEX and the RFC battery extinguishing unit.

Battery power supports full performance capability

Rosenbauer explained that the PANTHER electric operates with four electric drive motors and high-voltage batteries, providing sufficient range to complete typical emergency response operations on a single charge.

The company noted that its batteries can be charged using up to 300 kW, allowing rapid turnaround between deployments.

It said the system’s Boost Mode draws energy from both the battery pack and backup energy system to exceed 880 kW (1180 hp), achieving 80 km/h in under 20 seconds and reaching a maximum speed of 120 km/h in all-electric operation.

International aviation standards exceeded

According to Rosenbauer, the PANTHER electric meets and surpasses operational standards set by both the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The manufacturer added that the vehicle’s extinguishing system – including pump, foam system and turret – performs identically to the diesel-powered PANTHER.

The company stated the vehicle is intended for use at locations such as refineries, petrochemical facilities and terminals, where fire incidents often involve high fuel loads and heat intensity.

These environments may require sustained flows of 6,000 to 10,000 gallons per minute (GPM), especially when fixed infrastructure is damaged or unavailable.

The updated foam pumper includes a water pump rated at more than 6,000 GPM and a Class B foam system.

All major sales regions, including Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East & Africa, expanded their business volumes.

The company reported an EBIT of €65.2 million, marking a 74% increase from the previous year’s €37.5 million.

Earnings before taxes (EBT) tripled year-on-year to €24.0 million despite higher financing costs.

Without negative special effects amounting to €4.8 million, primarily related to implementing a bank agreement, EBIT would have been €70.0 million.

Order intake and backlog at record levels

Rosenbauer stated that demand for its firefighting technology remained strong in 2024, with incoming orders reaching a record €1,705.2 million, up from €1,450.3 million in 2023.

The order backlog as of December 31, 2024, stood at €2,279.8 million, significantly exceeding the company’s annual revenue and securing production capacity into 2026.

Growth in orders was particularly strong in Europe, the Middle East & Africa, and the Americas.

First, it will acquire 1,710,200 bearer shares in Rosenbauer from RVG NewCo GmbH.

Second, it will subscribe to 3,400,000 new shares issued as part of a capital increase.

These steps will bring Robau’s ownership to 50.1% of Rosenbauer’s total shares, giving it majority control.

Mandatory offer to Rosenbauer shareholders

Rosenbauer handed over the 100th RTE Robot to the district of Munich, alongside its regional sales partner BAS.

The anniversary vehicle will go to the Gräfelfing Volunteer Fire Department. The RTE Robot is based on the 800 chassis (payload: 625 kg) and is equipped with a T5 remote control including video transmission, an RM15 thrower module (1,600 l/min) and a positive pressure fan that can be operated together with the thrower. The fire department will install a larger fan on another empty base module.

Before placing the order, a comprehensive market survey was conducted, during which all candidates underwent practical testing. The RTE Robot was chosen for its compact design (pallet size), off-road capability, modularity, and versatility, leading to Rosenbauer being awarded the contract.

Munich District Fire Inspection’s statement

Munich District Fire Inspection spoke on the arrival of the RTE Robot saying: “With the delivery of the third RTE Robot to the Gräfelfing Fire Department, the Munich district now has excellent area coverage in case of emergencies.

“This location was the missing piece identified during the evaluation of applications from fire departments two years ago, ensuring efficient coverage of the western and southwestern parts of the district,”

Features of the robot

The Munich District acquired three fully equipped RTE Robots. Heimstetten, Hohenbrunn, and Gräfelfing were chosen as bases. The first two devices were ordered in 2023 and delivered in March 2024. In June 2024, the district placed the order for the third RTE Robot, stationed in Gräfelfing.

Each RTE Robot order included the chassis with thrower module, ventilation module, and a module for transporting roll containers, including roll containers from Rosenbauer. These RTE Robots can function as fire-fighting robots, ventilators, smoke extractors, and for transporting heavy equipment in difficult terrain. The modules can be quickly and easily swapped at the site without tools or effort.

During the procurement phase, the specific needs of the fire departments were taken into account, and practical experience was incorporated into the design. After delivery, a development partnership was established with the Heimstetten and Hohenbrunn fire departments to test new accessories in practice and implement feedback into technical improvements.

Rosenbauer expands service operations in eastern Austria with new Achau location

Rosenbauer Österreich (RBÖ) has officially opened a new service location in Achau, along with an equipment shop.

The new location expands Rosenbauer’s operations in the greater Vienna area, improving customer service and accessibility for clients in eastern Austria.

The Achau site is part of RBÖ’s broader expansion, which already serves customers through four existing locations across Austria.

These include sales headquarters in Asten, branches in Neidling, Graz, and Telfs, as well as the group headquarters.

The new Achau facility replaces the service area in Neidling, enhancing after-sales service and equipment availability for customers in eastern Austria.

Customer focus in eastern Austria

The new Achau location is strategically positioned south of Vienna, with excellent connections to major transport hubs.

This positioning benefits customers from Austria’s southern and southeastern regions, including North Burgenland.

Proximity to Slovakia also allows for improved support to service organisations in neighbouring countries.

Sebastian Wolf, CEO of Rosenbauer International AG, commented on the opening: “With the opening of the new location in Achau, we are even closer to our customers in eastern Austria.

The Achau facility occupies a leased property that previously housed an international construction machinery company.

The site was chosen due to its large size and modern infrastructure, which met Rosenbauer’s requirements with minimal modifications.

This comprehensive modernisation process focused on sustainability, ensuring the site would meet current needs while reducing environmental impact.

Kurt Wandaller, Head of Area Europe in the Rosenbauer Group and Managing Director of RBÖ, said: “The location, size, and infrastructure were important criteria for us when looking for a new location.

“I am pleased that with this property we have found a property that exactly met our requirements and that we only had to modernise in the sense of sustainability.”

The facility offers space for workshop operations, allowing customers to have their vehicles serviced while simultaneously purchasing equipment.

This dual-functionality improves the overall efficiency for fire departments and other service organisations, saving time by combining maintenance and procurement under one roof.

The Achau location is also expected to enhance Rosenbauer’s support services in eastern Austria, where the density of customers is particularly high, thereby increasing overall customer satisfaction.
