According to Bridger Aerospace, these contracts were issued earlier than usual in the 2025 wildfire season and represent the longest individual task orders the company has received for these aircraft.

The company confirmed the aircraft will support firefighting operations across the United States, beginning with deployments in Minnesota.

Aircraft to support early season wildfire response

Bridger Aerospace stated that two of the CL-415EAF aircraft are already operational under the task order in Minnesota.

The start date for the second task order is still to be confirmed, with the final two aircraft remaining on standby under a “call when needed” arrangement.

The company explained this staged approach allows for rapid deployment in regions facing high wildfire risk, in line with the Forest Service’s pre-positioning strategy.

Davis stated: “These task orders recognize the Super Scoopers as one of the most effective tools in responding to wildfires as well as the Forest Service’s growing willingness to pre-position assets in order to more rapidly respond, helping to limit damage and better protect lives and property from this increasingly year-round threat.”

He added: “Securing these longer-term task orders also demonstrates the success of our strategy to have our fleet available and ready year-round to increase the visibility and predictability of our revenue.”

Avincis stated that the MITECO contract includes the deployment of 10 helicopters between 2025 and 2027.

These will include nine medium-type Bell 412 aircraft for crew transport and water bombing, and one semi-heavy Super Puma helicopter.

The regional government of Castilla-La Mancha has also issued two contracts to Avincis for wildfire suppression activities over the coming fire seasons.

These contracts will support the use of four aircraft, including two Super Puma helicopters over three years and two Bell 412 helicopters over two years.

Avincis said these new agreements build on ongoing operations with the regional governments of Andalusia, Aragon, the Valencian Community, and Galicia.
