Second, Smart SuperScene, Think like an Expert, applies AI to analyze thermal images.

In key scenes like Water leak, Insulation and Floor Heating, the system detects and flags anomalies on screen, turning raw data into clear, actionable information.

Robust UK launches new adjustable door head extensions

Robust UK has revealed that it now offers adjustable head extensions free of charge on all non-certified door sets on request.

According to the company, this innovative solution is designed to cover gaps of up to 15mm between the frame header and the structural opening.

Unlike conventional solutions such as spacers and mastic that simply fill gaps, the adjustable frame header extension creates a professional-looking installation, every time, enhancing the overall appearance.

Adjustable extensions

The company claimed that fitters will welcome the fact that the adjustable extensions for door headers avoid the need for frame packers and dispensing of the need for mastic will also ensure a more aesthetically pleasing result for the end customer.

Ultimately, Robust’s new adjustable header extensions reduce the risk of remakes or unsightly gaps following site survey mis-measurements or in the instance of particularly out-of-square structural openings, supporting smoother project delivery and avoiding unnecessary cost.

Installation is simple and efficient thanks to the use of jacking screws and each unit is manufactured so that it can be trimmed on-site to the exact required length, ensuring a precise finish every time, Robust added. 

Previously, gaps of up to 10mm would have required filling with mastic, a process that could delay projects, look unsightly, increase costs and often involved specialist trades.

Robust said that its new adjustable header extensions eliminate these issues and increases the gap tolerance by 5mm, allowing fitters to complete installations quickly and efficiently while maintaining a high-quality finish.

Paul Williams, Commercial Director at Robust explained: “Our new adjustable head extensions provide installers and project managers with the ability to achieve an aesthetically pleasing finish to a door set, even on challenging projects.

“It was developed in response to customer requests for a completely flexible solution, allowing customers to overcome any issues with mis-measurements up to 15mm between the frame header and structural opening,” he concluded.

HIKMICRO has revealed that its flagship LRG10 series radar level metre is accelerating the company’s expansion within the global instrumentation market.

A combination of AI-based false echo suppression and intelligent interference shielding enables stable performance in environments featuring dust, steam, agitation or volatile gases.

Built to move: The difference behind Lamella in curtain wall fire protection

In facade design, passive fire protection must perform over time in real building conditions, not just in testing.

This is especially important in curtain wall construction, where facades accommodate movement from wind loads, thermal expansion, and structural deflection. In these cases, a firestop or perimeter seal must do more than fit at installation. It must maintain the seal over time as the building moves.

This is where a Lamella material offers something distinctly different.

Fire protection must do more than achieve fire resistance

Passive fire protection performance depends on more than fire rating alone. It must also maintain the right form, fit, and compressibility over the life of the system.

Some standard stone wool solutions use a horizontal fiber structure. While stable, this can reduce their ability to accommodate repeated lateral compression over time. As movement and compression continue, internal fiber bonds can break down, reducing the product’s ability to recover and potentially allowing gaps to form between the fire protection and the facade or slab edge.

In curtain wall systems, where movement is expected, that loss of recovery can become a critical performance issue. Passive fire protection must remain closely fitted between the facade and the floor slab or inner construction, maintaining integrity as those elements move relative to one another. If the material cannot flex, recover, and sustain contact, the long-term effectiveness of the seal may be at risk.

A material engineered differently

Siderise® developed its own unique Lamella to address these real-world demands. Rather than using a conventional horizontal fiber structure, Siderise Lamella is manufactured from a specially formulated stone wool with vertically oriented fibers. This vertical arrangement allows the product to better withstand lateral compression and to recover more reliably from movement. Accelerated age testing in accordance with EOTA Technical Report 024 has demonstrated that Siderise’s Lamella structure can be repeatedly laterally compressed without loss of recovery or flex.

A smarter experience on site

Lamella also brings practical advantages. The integrated foil facing is clearly marked on top/bottom, and with the fibers already oriented vertically, it significantly reduces the risk of installer error.

Traditional solutions can also require application of spray, with insulation cut and compressed onsite before being sealed with an elastomeric compound. Because Siderise’s product is pre-compressed in the factory, Lamella and the applied foil scrim provide such a high level of fire resistance that an additional wet seal is unnecessary. As that compression is applied, the facing visibly wrinkles, providing a visual indicator that the product has been installed correctly.

Britannia Fire secures Dubai government approval

Britannia Fire has revealed that its P50 fire extinguishers have officially been certified for use by major government entities in the Emirate of Dubai including Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Airport and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

According to the company, the Certificate of Conformity (COC) was obtained from the Emirates Safety Laboratory (ESL) by the Concorde-Corodex Group, Britannia Fire’s distribution partner across the Middle East and North Africa.

A global leader in the design and production of composite fire extinguishers, Britannia Fire manufactures the P50 range from its factory in Norfolk, UK.

The advanced composite materials remove the need for annual servicing, with refurbishment only required after ten years, while the multi-purpose, fully recyclable and PFAS-free design helps support sustainability.

The approval comes as many government facilities in Dubai continue to rely on conventional steel extinguishers, which require annual servicing, have shorter operational lifespans and often contain PFAS.

“Enhanced operational efficiency and significant cost savings”

Asharaf Pallath, Sales Manager at Concorde-Corodex commented: “Government organisations in the region are showing strong interest in the P50 PFAS-Free Foam model.

“It is suitable for Class A, B and F fires and is also safe for use on live electrical equipment up to 1000V.

“In many cases, a single P50 can replace two separate extinguishers, offering enhanced operational efficiency and significant cost savings through reduced servicing needs and fewer overall units required,” he concluded.

Concorde-Corodex

Concorde-Corodex already supplies more than 5,000 P50 fire extinguishers annually in the Abu Dhabi region to the industrial and oil and gas sectors, where the P50 has long held Abu Dhabi Civil Defence approval.

The new certification paves the way for further expansion into the Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

Reacton Fire Suppression wins King’s Award for Enterprise 2026 for innovation

Reacton Fire Suppression Ltd has been awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category, placing the company among 52 organisations across the United Kingdom recognised in the 2026 honours list.

As part of the award, Chief Executive Officer Sam Malins is due to meet His Majesty King Charles III at a ceremony at St James’s Palace. The award recognises Reacton’s fire suppression systems, which are manufactured in the UK and are used to protect assets valued at billions of pounds globally. The company’s technology is designed to automatically detect and extinguish fires at their source, using integrated detection and suppression systems.

At the core of Reacton’s system is a proprietary pneumatic detection tube filled with nitrogen. When exposed to heat or flame, the tube ruptures and triggers the immediate release of an extinguishing agent, operating without the need for an external power source.

The company’s power-independent design has been highlighted as particularly significant in high-risk environments where electrical systems may fail. Reacton systems can also use electronic linear detection as an alternative option, allowing deployment across a wide range of sectors including heavy machinery, bus engines, electrical control panels and CNC equipment.

Award recognises dual-agent fire suppression approach

The King’s Awards for Enterprise also noted Reacton’s dual-agent suppression approach. This system combines dry powder, which rapidly suppresses flames, with wet chemical agents that cool surfaces and help prevent re-ignition. The company also offers clean agent options using fluorinated ketones, which are discharged as gas and leave no residue, making them suitable for environments containing sensitive equipment or where people may be present.

Another key feature of the technology is its modular design. Reacton uses what it describes as a “one valve fits all” system, allowing the same core valve to be used across a wide range of applications, from small electrical cabinets to large-scale industrial machinery weighing up to 400 tonnes. Only cylinder size and agent volume vary, which the company says reduces complexity and installation time while improving reliability.

Reacton Fire Suppression Ltd traces its origins to 2010, when Sam Malins acquired a small start-up focused on addressing gaps in fire protection for high-value mobile equipment. Following the acquisition of Reacton Fire Suppression Ltd in 2016, the business expanded into an Essex-based manufacturing, research and development, and international sales operation.

Today, the company supplies fire suppression systems across multiple sectors, including public transport, mining, information technology infrastructure, manufacturing and defence. Its international markets include the United States, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Africa and Central Asia. Clients include JCB and DP World.

Reacton says its systems are designed not only to protect equipment but also to reduce risk to human life by preventing fire escalation in industrial and operational environments.

Eccotarp introduces Foldable Drain Cover for spill response and environmental protection

The Foldable Drain Cover (FDC) developed by Eccotarp is designed to help prevent hazardous liquids from entering drainage systems during spill incidents and environmental protection emergencies.

According to the manufacturer, the product is intended for rapid deployment on steel and horizontal plastic drain grates, including those with side inlets or gullies. It is used in spill response situations to help contain liquids at the source and reduce the risk of environmental contamination.

New click-together CheckFire stands offer compact storage for fire safety professionals

CheckFire introduces flat-pack fire extinguisher stands

Fire safety supplier CheckFire has launched the Commander Flat-Pack Fire Extinguisher Stand range to improve storage and transport efficiency for fire safety engineers and maintenance professionals.

The new units use a click-together assembly method that allows them to be delivered in a flat-packed format.

This design enables professionals to store and handle the equipment more easily when vehicle or warehouse space is limited.

The stands are available as single or double units and are manufactured to hold most types of fire extinguishers.

Technical specifications of the CheckFire Commander range

The stand is constructed from 100% polypropylene to ensure the unit remains durable while maintaining a low weight for portable use.

The single fire extinguisher model weighs 1.2kg and the double stand version weighs 2.1kg.

Engineers can assemble the two-piece units without the need for drilling or additional fixings.

The design accommodates fire extinguishers with capacities ranging from 2kg or litres to 9kg or litres.

These units feature a built-in recess to assist with the installation of CO2 cylinders and provide designated space for ID signs without using clips.
